Customs Administration, Republic of China Provides Online Service in Complaining Infringements on Intellectual Property Rights
2014/10/31 TaiwanStarting now, Customs Administration, Republic of China provides online service in complaining infringements on intellectual property rights, raising protection from potential infringements and applying for protection extension. The online service allows concerned proprietors to upload relevant documents and information to the service system, and they may check case status online after applying.
Customs Administration indicates, according to Taiwan’s Trademark Act and its related implementation regulations for Customs, when the proprietors of trademarks or copyrights found specific or unspecific imports and exports potentially invading their trademarks or copyrights, they may lodge complaints or raise protection by submitting relevant documents to Customs Administration as reference for investigations and seizures.
In the past, these procedures were usually processed with paperwork; after the launching of online service, one can simply upload relevant documents and information to the service system in which printing and courier can be minimized. The entry of such online service is http://portal.sw.nat.gov.tw.
